Omaha, NE (PRWEB) June 16, 2008

PowerDNN.com, the leading DotNetNuke Hosting and solutions provider, now supports the DotNetNuke 4.8.4 web application framework. DotNetNuke 4.8.4 is a cumulative patch release that includes fixes for the three critical security holes in 4.8.2 as well as additional bugs found after 4.8.3 was released.

As one of the final version of the DotNetNuke 4.x framework, all users should upgrade to 4.8.4. “Upgrading to 4.8.4 serves two purposes.” says Tony Valenti of PowerDNN.com. “First, it will protect your site from hackers and second, it will help ensure your site can be upgraded to DotNetNuke 5.0 when it is released.” DotNetNuke 5.0 Cambrian is currently in Beta 5.

To coincide with the release of DotNetNuke 4.8.4, the PowerDNN Control Suite now features one-click DotNetNuke 4.8.4 upgrades. The PowerDNN Control Suite provides extensive management capabilities around the DotNetNuke framework.

The newest version of DotNetNuke is always automatically installed free of charge for all new PowerDNN.com DotNetNuke hosting customers.

Firefox Release Candidate 3 (rc3) Released

Firefox Icon, Web designFirefox’s development team is in full force as the latest Firefox Release Candidate 3 has been released. It currently supports more than 45 languages and has added support for CSS. They seem to be making progress in great lengths in a short amount of time. I use to be head-over heels in love with Internet Explorer until I started developing for the web years ago. It’s still a great tool, don’t get me wrong. When teamed up with Microsoft’s proprietary technologies it’s hard to beat. In saying that however, it goes against the grain and further divides the internet browsing community. Firefox is supported amongst many operating systems and has a huge development community aligned with the open-source values that have been sweeping the net for a length of time now.

Security is negligible between browsers as security can never be a 100%. It’s pretty simple really. The more people that use the software, the more destructive people it attracts. In my humble opinion, Firefox and it’s development community are doing it right. I don’t see the browser wars ending any time soon. I do however, think Firefox beats them all in speed and support for more cross-platform technologies (Microsoft Not Included) and provides a better overall user experience. I know you won’t be disappointed. Download Firefox 3rc3 today, I highly recommend it.
