Intuitive IT Wins Sudia Website Redesign

Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) April 8, 2010

Intuitive IT Pty Ltd has entered into an agreement with Sudia, a non-governmental not-for-profit organization committed to playing an active and lead role in advancing peace, development and social justice within the African continent to rebuild and reinvigorate the www.sudia.org website, it was announced today by Yener Adal, Director of Intuitive IT and Abdel-Rahman El-Mahdi, President of Sudia.

Said Adal, “We are thrilled and honoured to play an active role in helping SUDIA spread its message. It’s not every day you can help build a website for an organisation trying to advance the cause of peace. It’s a great privilege.”

“The new and revamped website will be developed for both our Arabic speaking as well as our English speaking audience and will (a) act as a source for current and regularly updated information on Sudia and its activities; (b) provide our members and visitors an opportunity to engage with the organization through the website; (3) act as an advocacy and communication medium for some of our work” said El-Mahdi President of Sudia.

“We are excited at this joint venture with Intuitive and look to it as a learning opportunity which we hope to share with our partners and the broader civil society community in Sudan should they wish to develop their own internet presence.”

Sudia works closely with a wide range of institutions from civil society, the private sector as well as with government developing programs and projects that sustain and reinforce peace and development and support the country and help the Sudanese people achieve their part of the Millennium Development Goals. Programs and projects are innovative and offer home-grown solutions to problems and challenges facing communities. Experience and learnings are captured as ‘development blueprints; which may be upscaled and replicated elsewhere throughout the African continent.

Sudia’ program and interventions fall under the following three areas

Strengthening civil society
Economic and community-based development
Conflict transformation and peace-building

Programs are re-enforced and supported through the provision of services targeting the development community. These include: surveys, business/program planning, custom-designed training packages, sector studies, assessments and evaluations.

The website will be enhanced from a visual design perspective and rebuild to provide both an Arabic and English version, will include blogs for programs, volunteers and staff and a media gallery for displaying photos and videos of the work undertaken in these programs. The website will be built on the latest version of DotNetNuke Community Edition CMS Framework.

Silk Road Project Website Wins Community Choice Award

Providence, RI (Vocus) November 13, 2009

The Silk Road Project , a not-for-profit artistic, cultural and educational organization under the artistic direction of acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, has won a national award for its website, which was developed by a Pawtucket, RI, company and designed by an Arlington, MA, firm.

The DotNetNuke® Corp., the company behind the most widely adopted web content management system (CMS) and application development framework for building websites and web applications on Microsoft .NET, announced on Friday, November 6, 2009, that the website won its Community Choice Award for the Most Creative/Original Site.

Embolden , which developed the Silk Road Project website in conjunction with Hecht Design , will receive the award on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, on behalf of the Silk Road Project in Las Vegas at OpenForce ‘09 Connections , a professional conference where DotNetNuke and Microsoft .NET developers learn about the latest developments in the DotNetNuke world.

A catalyst for promoting innovation and learning through the arts, the Silk Road Project has a vision of connecting the world’s neighborhoods by bringing together artists and audiences around the globe. The Project takes inspiration from the historic Silk Road trading route — what founder Yo-Yo Ma has called “the internet of antiquity”— as a modern metaphor for multicultural and interdisciplinary exchange.

The site stood out in one of four categories awarded in the OpenForce Connection Division. Winners were nominated and voted on by the DotNetNuke community for being the best websites created using the DotNetNuke platform.

Embolden collaborated with Hecht Design to marry great design with best practices for web development and usability. The site also showcases creative ways to display information and integrates Silk Road Radio; an MP3 player where visitors can listen to performances; and Postcards from the Road, a dynamic photo gallery with “postcards” from the Project’s programs around the world.

Embolden, based in Rhode Island, is a premier full-cycle and full-service web development, design and consulting firm specializing in community foundations and nonprofit organizations. DNN is at the center of Embolden’s development strategy, where custom web applications benefit from the power, stability, and extensibility that DNN offers.
