Datajam’s Internet Expands

San Leandro, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2005

Datajam’s Internet which was scheduled to make its debut last month delayed doing so after concerns that services provided were not spread around enough to provide the beneficial linkage sought after. Mr. Brunelle of datajam’s Internet explained that the collection of too many linkage services from the same URL address made it appear as though he was building a “link farm.” Although in a sense that is exactly what he is building, he further explained that the goal is to provide beneficial linkage to users and a quality service to the Internet at the same time. His intent is to provide a variety of web site promotional services, that create linkage beneficial to his site users, without making a “link farm” type of site. So although entry through a portal makes it appear as though services originate from the same locations, many do not. At present services provided via datajam’s Internet originate from at least seven differing URL addresses.

Mr. Brunelle advises that datajam’s Internet is accessed via three different portals. And, that the construction of all three portals and the different services was performed intentionally by use of products available FREE on the Internet. Mr. Brunelle advises that there is a lot of exciting technology available for free to anyone who cares to look for it. Programmers, Developers, and even Dreamers are working non-stop to build their version of a better mouse trap, and want you to play with their work.

Users arriving at datajamsinternet.com are given a selection of services and a choice of continuing to the portals. The three portals are described below.

DatajamÂ’s Internet at http://datajamsinternet.com serves as a hub for a number of linkage services, as well as an entryway to the three datajamÂ’s Internet portals.

Datajam’s Internet Portal which is accessed via the interface at http://datajamsinternet.com , was built into a free “MaxWebPortal” download has all the standard linkage choices such as forums, articles, downloads, link directory, classifieds, and a pictures gallery. This site is actually served from a FREE server at http://m1.asphost.com . Some of the other services originate from servers at http://www.domaindlx.com/ . Links from this portal lead you to a search directory, e-book directory, a couple link directories, datajamÂ’s Help Desk, datajamÂ’s Web Hosting, and datajamÂ’s Diary Server.

DatajamÂ’s Writers Web and FREE Article Exchange is a second portal built within the FREE Guppy Portal. This portal can be accessed via link from the datajamÂ’s Internet site or directly at http://datajamsinternet.com/guppy and it serves as a place for anyone who writes anything and wants to share, discuss, or make it available for reprint as free content. A significant amount of the Internet populace routinely publish their articles to the Internet at a variety of web sites in order to achieve beneficial linkage for their web site. This portal is designed specifically to meet those needs as well as serve as an article repository for FREE content seekers to draw from. Submission and reprint guidelines are noted at this site.

Djam-promo: Internet Promotional Services is the third portal of datajam’s Internet. It can also be reached from the Hub or directly at http://djam-promo.com . This portal is built within the DotNetNuke portal system. What makes this portal so well suited for datajam’s Internet needs is the ability to easily set up pages using “iframes.” Most of the site is actually composed of external sites pulled into this portal by use of the “frame,” making the site appear as though local. To facilitate a different type of linkage service from this portal datajam’s Internet uses a number of free ASP applications from the makers of DUPortal. Although their portal application wasn’t used, their DUDownloads, DUNews, DUDirectory, and others were. These applications provide for the user to submit the URL information of the document or item they wish to submit, rather than the item itself. datajam’s Internet staff believe that this will create a beneficial reverse linkage that will be advantageous to web site promotion.

All together datajam’s Internet has created an ideal resource for the Internet to promote their web sites through linkage methods. Mr. Brunelle advises that all he needs is about ten million users to help him get his sites off the ground and in return the users would be guaranteed the linkage benefit they seek. Mr. Brunelle advises the sites are ready, but in a “beta” stage while users help him find bugs or other issues to resolve.

XsitenetÂ’s management team is hopeful this move will provide the needed incentive for clients currently still waiting to take the plunge in launching a website, or who may be unsatisfied with their current web host or web designers, to give us a try and discover the outstanding value our services offer.

Xsitenet Â’s free web site packages are developed by select Microsoft® partners, and allow customers to install separate modules for web site deployment. Easy CGI CEO and President Interviewed by HostReview.com

Pearl River, NY (PRWEB) June 7, 2008

New technologies, such as Virtualization will help hosting companies survive the current economic downturn, says Dan Richfield, president of the Web hosting company and Microsoft partner, Easy CGI (www.easycgi.com).

“Hosting companies that survived the last downturn in 2001 – 2002 learned their lessons well. They’ve not only adopted new, more flexible hosting technologies, they’ve also streamlined their operations, standardized their services, and have learned the importance of responsive customer service.”

Richfield was recently interviewed by Hostreview.com — regarded as the leading Website for the hosting industry — and appeared on a roundtable discussion about the economy’s effects on the industry.

“The industry has matured and stabilized over the last 8 years,” says Richfield. Before 2000, every hosting company pretty much developed its own, ad hoc solutions for their server platforms. Now there aren’t so many different platforms and standards, and successful companies have adopted best practices for the technologies they support, whether it is a Linux or a Windows server environment.”

Richfield also says the health of the hosting industry should be easier to maintain because the Web is even more integral to business than it was in 2001.

“The key is to be flexible about providing hosting plans that give customers what they need. At Easy CGI, we are driven by what our customers want, rather than trying to force them all in to one mold. That’s why we were one of the first companies to offer a full, competitive range of hosting plans for Linux as well as Windows.”

“Some of our customers want the very latest Windows Server environment, the moment it becomes available. Others are content to stay with older, more familiar technology. We give both of them what they want. Through our close ties with Microsoft, we were able to offer Windows Server 2008, a full month before it was generally released. But we continue to fully support earlier versions.”

The company is also a Platinum Sponsor of DotNetNuke, a content creation and management platform with a modular core that makes it easy for Easy CGI customers to create, customize, deploy and manage their websites, intranets and extranets.

But it is virtualization that holds the key to the hosting industry’s future success.

“Virtualization is gaining a real foothold in the hosting industry,” says Richfield. “With Virtual Private Server hosting, companies can enjoy the scalability, flexibility, security and other benefits of dedicated hosting, but at a significantly lower cost for hardware and support services. That’s good news for IT managers tasked with controlling their budgets and good news for hosting companies who need to control their own costs and retain their customer base.”

2009 Open Source CMS Market Share Report Highlights Content Management Leaders, Key Market Dynamics

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2009

The 2009 Open Source CMS Market Share Report was recently released and concludes that three brands – Joomla!, WordPress and Drupal – dominate today’s market. Since 2008, The Big Three have solidified their grip on the market, with Joomla! taking the lead in many indicators for the first time since the project’s launch in 2005.

The report follows the market share and brand strength indicators for 20 top systems, assessing each on a wide variety of traditional and Web 2.0 measures. The study focuses on identifying the market leaders, both in terms of rate of adoption and mindshare.

“This is the second year we’ve conducted the analysis. The report benefits greatly from expanded historical data and this year’s user survey,” states Ric Shreves, partner at water&stone and lead analyst on the report. “It’s clearly been a good year for Joomla!, but it’s also been a very positive year for a number of other projects, indicating the growing strength of open source offerings in the content management space.”

While WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal lead the survey set across a wide range of measures, the report also identifies other stars. Alfresco, a vendor focused on both document management and web content management, performed well across a number of categories and led the Java-based open source CMS race over its nearest rival, Liferay. DotNetNuke led the .NET-based open source CMS category, though the report goes on to identify reasons why that position may soon be changing. In addition to naming the market leaders, the study also identifies projects whose market share and brand metrics indicate they are at risk.

The Open Source CMS Market Share Report was launched in 2008 by digital agency water&stone. For the 2009 report, water&stone joined forces with CMSWire.com in order to create a more comprehensive and authoritative report. As a result, this year’s report covers more ground, and looks more deeply into the metrics. A key difference in this year’s report is the presence of direct evidence of adoption rates, brand awareness and brand sentiment, which was gathered by a survey of over 500 open source CMS users.

A complimentary copy of the survey can be downloaded from http://www.cmswire.com/downloads/cms-market-share/.
